I found Forza Motorsport 6 and the new Need for Speed, both for a very good price. Now, my problem is deciding which I should buy.

Originally, I was bent on Need for Speed, because of the customization and the “newness”.

But then I remembered my experience with the beta, which was only so-so...

Here are the pros and cons I’ve gathered. I believe Oppo will lean towards FM6, because manual transmission.

NFS:

Pros

- Intense customization

- Emphasis on getting to know your cars

- Open-world (albeit small)

- Various driving modes

- Arcade racing (this one’s a mixed bag)

- Straightforward tuning system

- NITROUSSSSS

Cons

- No manual transmission (which doesn’t affect me that much, I hate manual on a controller)

- Can only own five cars

- Only about 50 cars

- No ability to pause

- PvP is crap

- It’s always freaking night or dawn

- It’s always raining darn it

- Small map

FM6:

Pros

- Soooooo many cars!

- Forzavista

- Manual transmission (which, again, hardly affects me, I will probably just stay on automatic)

- Tracks. So many tracks.

- Daytime

- Rewind system

- Rewards!

Cons

- Closed world

- Intense simulation

- Soundtrack is repetitive

I'm kind of on the fence for FM6, I have 5 and it is EXTREMELY DREADFUL. I hate it. So I'm worried that the same will happen with 6.

Forza 5 doesn’t count. FORZA 6 IS AMAZING!!!!!

That’s a tough one. Apparently they’re fixing the no manual thing in NFS with a patch, and all updates will be free like GTA.

OTOH, Forza 6 is amazing, but somewhat limiting if you just want something to mess around with.

5 was crap... so I'm worried.

True. Free DLC is good DLC.

Plus, with Forza 6, visual customization is somewhat limited. I like to mod my cars, so I’d prefer NFS, but YMMV.

I bought NFS and it’s not even as bad as I expected. The map size is big enough for me and it doesn’t bother me that it’s always night. Customization is okay. But not all cars have plenty of options. The one thing I’m hooked on is the livery editor tho. Oh, did I mention that the game is relatively short? I don’t regret my choice as FM5 ruined Forza for me.

But 6 is miles better.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.

Agree. I love NFS’s customization, I'm just afraid about it content-wise.

Yeah, I heard some people finishing it in one to two days. FM5 ruined Forza Motorsport for me too—wait, it's the only Motorsport game I've played before. Kind of scared to try FM6... on the plus side, Horizon is great!

GTA VI

Or HL3

Both solid choices

I don’t know, in what ways?

Obviously besides the weather, Mods, and prize spins...

I've 5, there's no 6 (ya, I know you're being sarcastic).

Playing Forza 4, I felt motivated to build all sorts of cars and make all sorts of liveries and really get immersed in the experience. Forza 5 felt like an arcade racer. It felt as though I was racing for the sake of racing, not to have fun. Forza 6, on the other hand, has reawaken the spirit of Forza 4 inside me.

Use the semi-manual in Forza. Then all you’re doing is tapping buttons, and not trying to manage a clutch as well.

While I wish that Forza included the body kits and more visual mods, the racing is in an entirely different universe compared to NFS.

Also, no rubber band AI in Forza.

Forza 4 looks awesome, but I haven't played it. One thing that I like about simulator games is when they have extremely boring, civilian cars. I don't know why, really, super cars are not my thing anymore.

Buy Forza 6! I’m waiting until Black Friday when Best Buy cuts it to $34.99 and I can use my $10 rewards credit.

That's the deal I'm talking about, actually! It's just that NFS is also $34.99...

That’s exactly why I felt motivated to turn a Civic Si into a supercar mangler in Forza 6

Forza is the clearly better choice. It’s much deeper than NFS. You can own more cars, the tuning is worlds more robust.

NFS is a game you get on clearance.

Have you ever tried FM4 before? It’s the perfect game. But besides that, I’ve only read good things about 6. I needed 11 days to finish NFS btw and I didn’t play every day.

Forza. Like others said, there's no compelling reason to buy NFS especially since it has some nasty frame rate issues on the console versions.

Forza 6. Racing with friends at night in Nurburgring with a B-Class car is so much fun, especially if someone breaks the headlights and can’t see shit. Also, FM6 has a Cadillac Limo, NFS doesn’t have a Cadillac Limo

Either way, you can still have a lot of fun racing a Escalade or a Lambo LM2002. Hell, even a Ford Country Squire if you want
